there is a concept in fengshui called the flying stars, and in this concept, each number (1 to 9) represent an element, a thing, male/female, etc. and numbers are not really summed up. rather, they interact with each other. for example, an 811 is good because they are all good numbers/ and any number with 1 is considered good; 829 is good because both 8 and 2 are earth, which are activated by 9, which is fire, or 8 and 2 becomes 1 (marriage concept), then 1 and 9 also becomes 1 (double marriage); 729 is bad because it is double fire, 7 and 2 is fire, and 7 and 9 is also fire; or 2 and 9 are bad because 2 is illness and 7 is violence, while 9 is a magnifier, in this case it magnifies 7 and 2, which is fire
