At Home Internet Jobs, Who Said It Was Easy?

Copyright 2005 Benjamin Scott

I’m sure you’ve heard it all before, build a website and people
will come. But if you’ve built a money-making website, that’s
not what you want to hear. After all, you picked one of these at
home internet jobs, because you want to be financially
independent and your own boss.

Here’s one alternative from the many home internet jobs you’ve
surely read on the net. Join an affiliate or partnership or
referral program. Study these three alternatives, to help you
maximize your profit streams.

1. Exclusive retailer. There are many online malls; they offer a
comprehensive range of products and services. Concentrate on
supplying the needs of a narrower market segment. You’ll be
unique and sought out. 2. Join the more profitable affiliate
program. Although there are literally hundreds you can join,
take your time. Read the FAQ section. Check out their products.
If the products and services they offer are ones you look for,
there’s a good chance that you’ll earn as an affiliate.

Other factors you may want to think about. Are the commissions
high enough, that you’ll turn a profit? Remember you’ll need to
set up your own website, and secure advertising money. Choose to
join an affiliate program whose products are mid range and will
sell it self with little effort.

3. Create a website that focuses on your passion. Although the
focus is on the range of products that the affiliate program
has, that’s not the only thing you offer. Give advice that is
contextual to the products. Maybe you could write about the
history of the products, or the processes involved in
manufacturers. You could write about the celebrities who use
this. Build a website that’s full of contents that your
customers can use to better their lives. You’ll win their trust.
They’ll soon become your most loyal customers.

Here’s one home internet job opportunity you may not have
thought of. It’s a profitable and excellent venue to a steady
stream of profits.

Be an online retailer of e-books with the reseller or reprint
rights. Here’s one of the many ways you can do it. Offer a one
time entry fee for the subscriber, it can be $20.00 a year or
life time subscription fee. The subscriber will have the right
to download any e-book from in your library. Some of the more
successful business models target niche markets. You can be a
retailer of e-books that specialize on the recipes of different
countries. Wouldn’t that be fun? You can commission e-books or
buy from known e-book authors. Read the e-books to be sure
you’re selling the real deal.

What are the benefits you received from reading that e-Book you
just purchased? Right an article or review explaining the
benefits and then get that article or review published and
placed in front of the eyes of your best prospects.

Be a dropper shipper and establish your storefront at EBay or
the competitor Yahoo auctions. EBay’s traffic alone runs to
approximately 800,000 visitors daily. It’s the worlds’ best
online auction, and you wont’ go wrong.

Now what’s a dropshipping business? It’s a business model where
you put products on a website or through EBay. You take the
orders they come and pass these on to the dropship supplier, who
ships this to your buyers.

Another way of putting it is, you’re the middleman, and you take
the orders via Paypal, credit card or fax.

All the home internet jobs here will net you profit. All you
need is a computer, internet access and basic knowledge about
your pc and the net.

Does anyone know of a TRUELY good work at home craft/assembly job?
I am pregnant and have been searching everyday on the internet for a work at home assembly job to do part time. I already have a part time job but as food prep at a restaurant I get really tired and stressed so I limited my days from 5 per week to 3. I still need to make more money and I really want to work from home so when the baby is born I can still do that job and be there for my child all the time. I've found a multitude of sites that say "watch out for scams" and some that have lists of "legitimate" home assembly jobs but have not yeilded any good results.

I'm tired of the wild goose chase. Does ANYBODY know of or work for an at-home craft/assembly job that is truely legitimate. And I mean not just scam-free, but one that is easy to do and as close to hassle-free as possible? Some of them have big starter fees and don't pay as much for the work to really make you a profit. I'm not trying to get rich, just to make enough money.

Links to websites would be really great
Please only home assembly/craft jobs. I appreciate the help, but no data entry or other types of work at home jobs. Assembly/crafts would be the best for me.

One Step 4 Income - Let's compare…..

For any potential members to One Step 4 Income I want to explain to you what OSI is and what it isn't. Then we'll compare OSI to other forms of income and business opportunities on the Internet and see how OSI stacks up.

One Step 4 Income is a online business feeder system that's based on the Reverse-Universal-Marketing principal (RUM.) Here's what RUM allows OSI members to achieve.

REVERSE
OSI members build an organization first (5 X 4 forced matrix) without spending any money out-of-pocket by following a simple step-by-step plan. Then join the core-business in the system and feed their referrals in to the business after them.

UNIVERSAL
Everything in the OSI System is exactly the same for every member. You have the same plan, the same pre-written email messages and headlines, the same downline builder, the same website and the same forum. When I say the same, I mean the same — even down to me. By being universal, the entire system is easily duplicatable.

Remember, people are not duplicatable — but systems are.

MARKETING
Everyone has a basic idea of what marketing is. Marketing can take many forms. OSIs marketing method of choice happens to be Safelist email marketing.

Here's why….

Email marketing is the most effective form of advertising on the Internet. However, since the CAN/spam regulations we're passed and with newer filtering software, email marketing has been very difficult. Safelists provide us the opportunity to LEGALLY reach millions of potential prospects in a very short period of time, with a small effort, and with NO cost. So what you have is the most effective, least time consuming most affordable promotional method you can find.

Other forms of advertising are either too costly, very time consuming, require a great deal of expertise, are far less effective, or are a combination of all of these things put together.

The ONLY draw back to Safelist promotion is that you have to agree to receive email messages from other Safelist members. But we even have this small obstacle covered by giving you a free Gmail account. Gmail is Google’s version of email and can handle over 1 million emails. All members have to do is have the messages from the Safelists sent to their Gmail account and periodically delete them by pressing a couple of buttons. So these messages are really not a problem at all.

Now let's look at some alternative income and business approaches and see how OSI compares.

Traditional Brick & Mortar business:
If you were to build a brick & mortar business (offline business) it would require an extremely large investment of time, money and expertise. Not to mention employees to help you run it, competition from huge conglomerates and a large expensive product inventory that has to be maintained. Let's just say this is out of the reach of 99% of people looking to earn an income, especially in today's expensive and competitive market.

Online MLM:
Here's a form of business that's appealing to many people because in most cases it's affordable (as far a businesses go,) it can be run from home and has the potential to make a very good income. Here are the drawbacks. First you have an initial investment to join the company, usually from $50 to over $1,000. Then you have monthly fees that have to be paid, in either product purchases or membership fees. Next, you have to pay to market your products and the business, make phone calls, attend seminars and phone conferences, buy and listen to motivational tapes, and then prospect, recruit and build a downline. Over 98% of people joining a traditional MLM fail within their first 3 months without so much as making a single sale or recruiting a single person.

Affiliate Marketing:
Here's where unsuspecting income and business seekers get themselves suckered into wasting a lot of time, money and effort, and in the end, have nothing to show for it. Affiliate marketers need to locate products to sell first. With all the Gurus online, these products are usually not hard to find. A nice feature of Affiliate Marketing is that to be an affiliate marketer it generally doesn't cost you anything. So there are no upfront costs to get involved with affiliate marketing.

BUT, here's where people get suckered in. Unless you have your own products to sell, you have to sell someone else's products for a percentage of the profits. Then you have to invest in marketing those products (this is how the Gurus save on marketing costs) which can be very expensive and requires allot of expertise to be successful.

The Gurus will tell you that the money is in the list, and that's true in affiliate marketing. But how can you build a list when the buyers you send to your affiliate site sign up for the "free" report etc. that the Guru has placed on the website to harvest the lead? So you pay for marketing the Gurus product AND give him a free lead in the process.

Doesn't sound very fair to me. Plus, the Guru now has you on his list so he/she can bombard you with his/her offers. So every time you make a sale, you earn a percentage of the profits, but then have to continue making sales from scratch if you want to earn a sustainable income.

There is an alternative to this though, you can go to the Guru's seminar, or get mentored by one of his/her associates to learn how he/she is making so much money. But it may cost you $5,000 to $10,000 to do so. Or, you can purchase an ongoing educational program that generally costs between $100 and $1,000 per month.

Oh, and let's not forget a job… your boss controls your destiny…. you sacrifice your time and efforts for a pay check that keeps you Just Over Broke.

So if you were to select any of the business methods above, you better have a lot of investment capital, expertise and time.

Here's how you make money with One Step 4 Income.

The OSI System is a FREE downline builder /feeder system and marketing strategy… NOT a business. As such, you don't pay for the OSI System.

OSI reverses the traditional way to build businesses. Instead of paying a fee to join and then using out-of-pocket money to market and build your business, OSI gives you the system and all of the tools, materials and marketing sources for free. That way you can begin to build an organization first without going broke.

Your objective is to begin building a team of referrals and join the first, or core-business in the system, New Plan Network (NPN,) for $10.75, and $10.75 a month after that. NPN has a 6 step pay plan. Each step costs a little more, but pays out much higher commissions as well.

Most members join NPN early to avoid getting "leapfrogged" and because it's so inexpensive to join. Other members opt to join the free services and/or businesses that we offer and earn the $10.75 to join NPN. It's entirely up to the individual.

You advance to the next step in the pay plan by keeping enough commissions in your payment processor to finance the monthly fee — anything above that is pure profit. This process continues until you have advanced to all 6 levels in the pay plan.

Here's where it really gets exciting. You only need 30 referrals to follow you into all 6 steps in the NPN pay plan to earn over $4,500 per month, and that doesn't include what you'd still be earning on the 5 lower levels! How many businesses can you earn that much money with such a small investment and so few referrals?

What happens when 50 or 100 referrals follow you into all 6 steps? But that's not all… as these same referrals begin to join the other businesses in the system after you, your income will continue to increase. And that doesn't include the commissions you'll be earning from your referral's referrals. Can you see the income potential?

Once you have earned enough money to join business number 2, My World Plus (MWP,) you can join and begin to feed your referrals after you. From there you will join the third business in the system, the One Step System.

NOTE: Due to the change in the NPN pay plan (6 commission levels instead of a single commission level,) we have adjusted the current amount of businesses in the OSI system. Instead of the original 7 businesses, we have eliminated four and currently have three businesses in the system. Additional businesses will be added as members begin to advance that far and only after a vote by active members to determine the new businesses that we add to the system.

So that's what you have, an opportunity that has no limits except the ones you place on yourself. If you are serious about earning a 6 figure income you will do what it takes. But if you think this requires too much work or you have some other excuse, you will NEVER succeed in anything.

You need to check out http://www.wahm.com message boards, I know this type of work has been discussed there from time to time. Be very careful though as I have heard that there are alot of scams out there.

For a good list of general work at home jobs, not craft assembly that I have seen, check out http://www.workathomedesk.com which is a free site that has a directory of legit companies that hire home workers.

Hope this helps!

Well dear, I'm right there with you. I, too am pregnant (about to finally start my second trimester) and I'm having a very rough time of things. I work in a customer service call center, and I've already used up all of my paid time off being ill with this pregnancy, and I'm not even a third of the way there. I'm really starting to dislike my job myself, and I have a feeling that if I miss one more day of work that I'm going to lose it…meaning I'll also lose my health insurance (unless I pay out the wazoo for it myself)

I'm looking for something myself, and I've tried two different things, though they were years ago.

I tried one beading project that ended up being a disaster. I was supposed to get paid like $5 to make these beautiful beaded bookmarks. I got my kit (that I had to pay for and it only had enough materials to make one or two of them) and spend SEVERAL HOURS assembling the dang thing. I didn't even bother sending it back, there was NO way I could make any money at that.

The second I tried was a cross-stitched greeting card. Ditto with the taking waaaay too long to make it for minor duckets.

On top of that, both of them were severely lacking in one very important aspect. Their directions were crap. The print quality was some of the cheapest I'd ever seen (I used to work in a print shop and I've seen a lot). The directions were just…in a word…sloppy and unclear.

I'm not saying that there aren't legitimate businesses out there looking for real crafters to assemble something for them, but the words of warning should be heeded.

I'm starting my search again today, and if I find anything that I'm willing to try, I'll pop you a message again. I'm seriously starting to think of starting something up myself and cutting out all this other stuff myself…being a collector of all things crafty.

If you'd like to keep in touch, send me an email at dragonwing.studio@yahoo.com and maybe we can bounce some ideas back and forth.

*hugs*

Hang in there dear. I'm sure that something great will show up for both of us.
